“Poly Pollie” was a brain drain of Holden’s scribbles that, after much thought of the intended vibe, was handed-off to our pal, long time Tiki Farm contributing artist, Philippe Tilikete. You see Philippe has a deep history on the Minions’ franchise and THAT simplistic and playful Minions-like groove is exactly what we were looking for.
We played around with all kinds of glaze colors but given her simplistic charm, we landed on an appropriate glaze combo of a sun kissed Coppertone tan melded with a golden amber brown wash.
Like so many of our designs, Poly Pollie is part of our 25-year history of being the company in Tiki that supports the Art community, specifically, the many artists that make up the fabric of it’s modern resurgence. Philippe is a special part of our history and arriving next Summer will be his very own creations: “Modern Ku” and “The Guard” (complete with a gold tone metal spear).
