Our “Tiki Farm Bar & Lounge” matchbooks were manufactured for Tiki Farm in Germany to the highest quality standards. The wonderful and whimsical artwork for these was created for us by Daniel Scarcello of Rainforesttiki. The front cover is an evocative scene of a Wahine in a grass skirt leaning into a carved wooden Tiki idol with distant palms and a setting sun in the background. The back cover pays tribute to the Pan Am Clipper-class airliners dating back to the late 1930s that transported mainland tourists to the tropical shores of the Hawaiian Islands.
Inside, we find the happy couple enjoying a night on the town on the front side of the matches… ultimately though, as evidenced on the backside of the matches, they finish the evening off having had a few too many cocktails to the dismay of their gracious server at the local Tiki Bar! A distant, active volcano can be seen in the distance.
With our first-ever matchbooks, we wanted the art to set the tone for the simpler, gentler time in Tiki. You’ll note that we used the old-timey way of referencing our Tiki Farm phone number alpha-numerically (granted, we took some liberties with the alpha portion) to further reinforce this bygone era. We included our url on the top spine of the exterior but we were reluctant to do that as there was obviously no such thing as the world wide web in the intended era the matchbooks are intended to evoke. That simple inclusion was actually a very difficult decision when ultimately approving the matchbooks.
Each matchbook measures 2” x 2 ¼” and contains a total of ten heavy-duty matches. Free as a promotional item with every purchase over $50 (cost of goods) until supplies run out, you can also purchase additional matchbooks from us for just $2 each or $10 for a 6 Pack.
